Childrens' day programme

Children take part in a range of group and individual activities during the week at The Croft. These include school, life and social skills, art, music, health and welfare and recreation sessions.

Timetable:

Monday - Thursday

9.00 Morning meeting

9.15 Short playtime

9.30 School

10.45 Break

11.15 School (replaced by Music Group on Wednesdays)

12.30 Lunch

1.00 Lunch break

1.45 Group activities: Art (Monday), Life skills (Tuesday), Social skills (Wednesday), Recreation* (Thursday) 

3.00 Review of the day (Monday-Wednesday); review of the week (Thursday)

* In their first week at the Croft, children go on a half hour 'safety walk' with staff members to check their awareness of the environment and general safety, then choose an activity such as art or cooking. In subsequent weeks they join the Recreation Group for activities such as swimming, bowling and visits to the park. In their final week at the Croft, children can choose the activities for the rest of the group.
